In the northeastern corner of Estonia lies a city where two worlds intersect The Narva River naturally separates Estonia from Russia, and a bridge spans the waterway, accommodating both pedestrians and vehicles.
It’s in Narva that we embarked on a humanitarian project. Our objective
is to ensure children have the necessary tools for education, access to nourishing
meals, and basic clothing through an organization dedicated to assisting large families
with many children.
For me, this project might be the closet I’ll ever come to Russia,
as the riverbanks provide an uncommon view along the border. This perspective,
however, goes beyond geographical boundaries, offering insight into the lives
and aspirations of people who share more commonalities than differences,
regardless of the border.
Inspired by our experiences in Narva, let us aim to foster
empathy and understand in our personal lives, regardless of where we stand in
relation to geographical borders.
